Tanawha Trading Post's Story
Tanawha Trading Post was established in 2020 by Caleb Miller. Since then, we have provided our 18th century reproduction products and custom products for use in living history museums, reenactments, theaters, schools, and the film and television industry as well as everyday use.
Our shop is located in the beautiful Appalachian Mountain region of North Carolina. The Cherokees called one of the mountains in this region "Tanawah" which means "a fabulous hawk or eagle". That mountain today is known as Grandfather Mountain. We chose the original title to grace the name of our trading post.
