Marble games have been played in all parts of the world with all manner of playing pieces for more than two thousand years. Over the course of those two thousand years marbles have been made out of anything from bone to actual chips of marble stone. Although glass marbles were becoming popular during the eighteenth century lower class children would often make there own marbles by rolling clay into little balls and placing them by the fire to dry.
Our marbles are rolled by hand as they did in the period. Each set comes with ten clay marbles, a cloth carrying bag, and game instructions. Marbles measure around 18mm.
