Many years before the arrival of the Europeans to North America, the Natives were cultivating corn. Out of this came the tradition of communal corn shucking at the end of harvest with dancing, a feast, and games. When the first settlers arrived, they adopted the cultivating corn, the corn shucking festivities, and the corn husking peg. The corn husking peg was developed to make shucking corn quicker and easier. Our peg is made of oak wood and features a genuine leather strap. It measures 6 inches long and has a linseed oil finish.
