This handy little device was used from 1790-1820. It is used to prop up a platter or plate to keep your gravy, syrup, or any other runny foods off of other food on the plate or platter. Our wooden plate wedge is handmade out of cherry wood and finished with boiled linseed oil. Each wedge measures 4 1/2 inches long, 1 3/8 inches wide, and about 7/8 inches thick.
