Sugar would have been bought in a cone wrapped in paper during the 18th century. Sugar bowls were made from many types of materials and would be placed on the table for serving. The sugar cones would be broken up and placed in the bowl. 
This wooden sugar bowl is turned into an elegant acorn-looking bowl. It measures 5 inches tall and 2 5/8 inches in diameter. Made from maple and finished with mineral oil.
